What is Canva?

As you may know, there are a lot of factors in play as a content creator. Regardless of the type of content you may be pursuing, many content creators across the board typically have a few things in common. This includes characteristics such as editing software, editing/video apps, video/audio equipment, etc… For me, I think if you are able to become comfortable with an editing platform and you can efficiently navigate through it, you can upgrade your content and gain an edge over your competitors.

In today’s world, there’s an abundance of editing services (both paid and free) available to you, which means it is not necessarily a matter of finding one to use, but finding one you’re comfortable with. Some of the popular editing applications include Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Editor, Canva, Pixlr, GIMP, and the list goes on. In my experience, I’ve found Canva to not only be the most beneficial when editing/creating content, but it’s also fairly straightforward to learn and navigate.

Canva can be used through their website format or through their app. Regardless of which you choose, you should use Canva through your computer rather than a handheld device, since there are certain limitations and deficiencies when using Canva on your phone.

After you create an account and login, you’ll land on the homescreen, where you’ll be presented with resources such as templates, projects, branding, and other specific tools based on your needs. While the free version offers more than enough tools for you to use, the paid version provides additional templates and features that may help, but as I stated earlier the free version should be more than enough.

Once you get familiar with Canva and start playing around with the various features it has to offer, you can then start to get an idea of how you want to create and improve your content. Depending on your content, you can either create something or edit a piece in the way you see fit. If you’re looking for something pertaining to a social media post (whether photograph or video), Canva offers super useful templates that provide useful size and dimensions pertaining to Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube, and more.

While the primary use of information included in this article is directed towards people trying to improve their content as a creator/influencer, that doesn’t mean you have to! Much of what’s been stated throughout applies to improving your brand, company, advertising, or personal use. They also include an analytics section if you need a bit of help improving your business or what not. That’s another huge benefit of utilizing Canva, in most cases, they have specific designs that are applicable based on what you need. Since Canva is easy to use, there aren’t many reasons not to use it (especially when competitors are already using it to get ahead of you!).

Regardless of your needs, in today’s world it’s important to utilize the online services available to you. In most cases, you can use Canva to improve certain real world tasks and projects, and you can use it for things you may not have imagined. Getting familiar with Canva (or a product alike) will increase the chances of boosting your personal image, or your brand image.
